Erie County, NY, Features Comprehensive Official Records System
Erie County, New York, County Clerk Kathleen Hochul implemented a NewVision-based integrated Official Records System that is one of the most comprehensive in the country.
The system enables staff to intake, cashier, scan, index, verify and manually redact recordable documents such as mortgages, deeds and civil court records A web search application enables the public to access documents stored on the internet via public search stations in the Clerk's offices.
The system also features a number of other applications, such as NewVision's Pistol Permit Tracking module, which automates the collection of data related to firearms and the issuance of permits for firearms use in the county.
